General

“Go green” is the current buzz-word to encourage people to protect the environment and conserve natural resources. While the rest of the world woke up fairly recently to the reality that the natural resources that we have been blessed with should not be wasted, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) taught the Ummah more than 14 centuries ago the lesson of conservation and of totally avoiding israaf.

Jabir Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: Any Muslim who plants a tree, then whatever is eaten from it, is Sadaqah for him

We often hear ‘we are in the era of fitnas’ and ‘there are many fitnas in our times’. We come across this word, fitnah, during lectures and talks too. Let us understand what this word means.

From among the numerous things that Muslims are required to observe, e.g., perform salaah, recite the Quran, observe the fast of Ramadaan, being kind and humble, etc., one such requirement is to give sadaqa. Allah Ta’ala loves the act of sadaqa (offering charity).

A person may be doing good and virtuous acts/deeds but due to negligence and sinning the Noor (light) of the good deeds become void, nullified and non-existent.

The following is an ongoing reminder to the Muslims: “Our real life is the life in the Hereafter.”
