Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasalam) went on to add that: “I swear by Him, who owns my soul that, the person who consumes one morsel of haram, forty days of his ‘ibadaat and good deeds will not be accepted in the Court of Allah ﷻ. (Additionally), that person’s body, or any part of it that has touched haraam, will be worthy of being devoured by the fire of hell.”
(Tarqeebut Tarheeb)
Verily He has forbidden for you what dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that over which any other (name) than (that of) Allah has been invoked; but whoever is driven to necessity, not desiring, nor exceeding the limit, no sin shall be upon him; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful (S. 02; V. 173)
The above hadith and Ayat explain the grim consequences and damning dangers of consuming even a “small portion” of haraam. Even this “small portion” is classed as totally unacceptable. As a matter of fact, to even earn or acquire anything that’s haraam is absolutely forbidden in Deen-ul-Islam.
At times some people think of this matter as “less important” or “take it lightly”. But, dear Muslims, rest assured that the warning is stern and harsh. Ah! and the outcome is much more uncompromising and devastating.
It is quite possible that too much of joking, laughing, light-heartedness and ill-intended gestures about “halaal-haraam-issues”, has made us somewhat “immune” and “impervious” to this grave and serious matter.
