Muslims are encouraged to name their children after the names of the Sahaba (RA). The Sahaba (RA) - companions of our Nabi (Sallaalahu Alayhi Wasallam) - were the best group of human beings after the Prophets (AS).

In the court of Allah Ta’ala, the Sahaba (RA) occupy a lofty position. Their esteemed status is invariably attached to the Mubarak company/companionship of our beloved Nabi (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam).

By naming your children after the names of the Sahaba (RA), they (Sahaba (RA) will certainly be remembered and revered.

Ultimately, it is hoped that - with the sacrifices and efforts made by the galaxy of Sahaba (RA) - their sublime character has a lasting effect on the child.
