The ‘Al Ihsan Fashion & Design Course’ which was put on hold during the lockdown period has resumed. Currently classes are held in Marianhill and Phoenix. Plans are underway to establish the programme in Illovo and Overport, Insha Allah. The course is offered to adult females at no cost.

On Thursday, 20 August 2020 a huge fire incident at the Umgudulu Road Informal settlement (Reservoir Hills, Ward 23) resulted in 240 dwellings being razed to the ground, almost 500 residents left without homes and a female resident sustaining an injury. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.

Feeding outreaches to the less fortunate are ongoing projects of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre and have continued – with strict adherence to all conditions of the lockdown – to support our beleaguered communities.
The ‘Feed A Patient’ project of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre has, over the years, provided ‘comfort’ in the form of meals and supplies to many patients at hospitals and health care centres in Durban and surrounding areas.Further, it has continued with the relief programme despite the lockdown.
