On Monday, 3 June 2024, members of the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre (DHC) came together to distribute a total of 1350 snack packs as part of the ‘Feed a Patient’ initiative.
In Durban, 200 snack packs were distributed by DHC team members with the help of clinic staff to the Newlands West Clinic, Glen Earle Clinic in Newlands East, Sea Cow Lake Clinic, Woodhurst Clinic in Chatsworth, Thembelihle Care Centre in Lamontville, and KwaDabeka Clinic, respectively.
In Pietermaritzburg, 150 snack packs were handed out by volunteers and clinic staff to patients, who received the goods with heartfelt appreciation.
Since its inception over a decade ago, the ‘Feed a Patient’ project aims to provide delicious snacks to various deserving institutions, such as special needs schools, old age homes, and clinics across the Durban and Pietermaritzburg areas.
Every month; with the generous help of staff, volunteers, and the community; approximately 12,000 snack packs are distributed in total across these facilities in the hopes of helping and uplifting underprivileged and deserving communities.
