Letter of Appreciation for the Purchase of Sewing materials for our Sewing machine project.
On Wenesday, 6th July 2011, between 12.00 and 14.00 pm, a representative from Darul ul Ihsan (Islamic Services Centre) of 53 Joyce Road, Sea Cow Lake, Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal, through its Muslim Empowerment Fund, distributed 147 Blankets to 49 head/reps of shack fire victims (3 blankets for each shack); 21 reps were from the Sokomani St. Squatter camp where it was said approx. 20 shacks were destroyed by fire. 28 reps were from the Kwatshezi (Ford St.) Squatter camp where it was said approx. 40 shacks were destroyed by fire. The shack fires took place on Friday the 1st and Saturday 2nd July 2011 respectively.
Disaster has struck the Cato Crest informal settlement again. A fire started at the Cato Crest informal settlement and destroyed the homes of about 100 families. Tragically two lives were lost due to the fire.
Darul Ihsan ventured into the distant community of Ixopo where hunger and cold is biting hard among the impoverished.

By the Grace of Allah Ta'ala, Ulama from Darul Ihsan were hosted for Jumuah lectures in various towns in the Natal Midlands on Friday 27th May 2011.Darul Ihsan Ulama delivered Jumuah talks in Mooi River, Winterton, Weenen, Bergville and Estcourt.
Darul Ihsan and Radio Islam recently hosted Hafiz Abu Bakr, the world-acclaimed reciter of poetry from Pakistan. Programmes were held in Port Shepstone, Stanger, Newcastle and Pietermaritzburg. In Durban a programme was held at the NMJ Hall and another was held at Masjid ut Taqwa.
Alhamdulillah, once again, on Friday, April 15 we were honoured to have a leading scholar and Ulama elder, Maulana Abdul Hamid Saheb - the rector of the Azaadville Darul Uloom - visit our IslamiCentre at Bester.
Alhamdulillah, on Wednesday, April 6 the Youth of the Ummah ‘Youth Activity Day’ was held at the Hazelmere Dam.
Eighty eight (88) boys between the ages 12 to 18 and 8 full time facilitators attended the ‘Youth Activity Day.’
