The Quran commands us to care for our Parents

The people we owe the greatest right to after Allah Ta'ala and Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) are our parents. Whatever blessings we enjoy is because of them. When a person neglects his duty towards them then at times even his good deeds become bereft of reward and blessings.

The fundamental rights of our parents are as follows:

a) Always make them feel physically and emotionally comfortable. Let them feel that we are at their side and never be the cause of grief for them.

b) Cheer them up in different ways. As they age, petty issues may irritate them. We should be patient and tolerate them as they happily tolerated us when we were young.

c) Take full care of all their needs according to our ability and settle their debts (if possible).

d) Make Dua for them regularly and request them for Duas.

Dua for parents

“O Allah! Bestow on them your Mercy as they cherished me in childhood”
