Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that a man asked Rasulullah r, “Advise me.” Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Do not get angry.” He repeated the request several times and Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) repeated, “Do not get angry.” (Bukhari)
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “A strong person is not a wrestler. Rather a strong person is the one who controls himself at the time of anger.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
Hazrat Atiyyah ibn Urwah As Sa’di (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Anger is from Shaytan and Shaytan has been created from fire. Only water puts out fire, so if any of you gets angry then make wudhu.” (Abu Dawood)
Hazrat Abu Zarr (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said to us, “If any of you gets angry whilst standing, then sit. If the anger still does not leave him then he should lie down.” (Abu Dawood)
These sublime teachings were displayed by Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) in all his relationships; with the Sahabah, in public, at home, with young and old, friend and foe. If anger is controlled and managed in the desired manner then conflicts and disputes will be resolved amicably.
