Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "Whenever the son of Adam recites a verse of Sajdah and then makes Sajdah, Shaitaan flees the place in tears. He shouts out, 'Woe unto me! The son of Adam was commanded with Sajdah and he made Sajdah, thereby gaining entry into Jannah. I was commanded with Sajdah and I refused. As a result I will end up in Jahannam.'" (Sahih Muslim).

Sajdatut-Tilawah should be made immediately upon recitation of the verse. If this is not possible then the Sajdah should not be unnecessarily delayed.
