RECITATION OF SURAH IKHLAS - #1
Abu Hurayrah (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said with regards to Qul huwallahu Ahad (Surah al-Ikhlas): “It is equivalent to a third of the Qur’an.” [Muslim]
BENEFITS OF WUDU- #2
Uthman ibn ʿAffan (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “One who performs wudu and performs it well, his sins exit his body, even from beneath his nails.” [Muslim]
FIVE DAILY SALAHS- #3
Abu Hurayrah (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The five Salahs, and Jumuʿah to Jumuʿah is an expiation for whatever is committed between them as long as major sins are avoided.” [Muslim]
MERIT OF FAJR AND ASR SALAH- #4
Abu Musa (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “One who performs the two cool Salahs will enter Paradise.”
*The two cool Salahs refer to the Fajr and Asr Salahs. [Bukhari, Muslim]
VIRTUE OF WALKING TO THE MASJID- #5
Abu Hurayrah (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “One who performs wudu at his home and then proceeds to one of the Houses of Allah to fulfil one of the obligations of Allah, then for each footstep he takes, one removes a sin and the other elevates his rank.” [Muslim]
REPLYING AFTER THE AZAN- #6
Saʿd ibn Abi Waqqas (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The sins of a person are forgiven who, when he hears the Mu’azin, says the following Dua:
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لّاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، رَضِيْتُ بِاللهِ رَبّاً ،وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُوْلاً ، وَباِلإِسْلَامِ دِيْناً

VIRTUE OF SUNNAH MUAKKADAH- #7
Umm Habibah Ramlah bint Abi Sufyan (R) narrates: I heard Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying: “A Muslim who performs twelve rakʿats of optional Salah every day, apart from the obligatory Salah, Allah builds a house for him in Paradise.”
*These twelve rakʿats refer to the Salahs which are Sunnah Muʼakkadah. [Muslim]
TWO RAKAT SUNNAH BEFORE THE FAJR SALAH- #8
ʿA’ishah (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The two rakʿats of Fajr are better than this world and whatever it contains.”
Another narration has: “They are more beloved to me than the entire world.” [Muslim, Tirmidhī]
READING THE DUAA AFTER WUDU- #9
ʿUmar (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever among you performs a complete wudu and then says the following dua, the eight doors of Paradise will be opened for him and he can enter from whichever of them he desires.”
The dua is:
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، وَأشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُه

PERFORMING SALAH IN THE FIRST SAFF- #10
Abu Umamah (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said "Allah and His Angels shower mercies on (those performing Salah in) the first row” [Ahmed]
VIRTUE OF MAKING MISWAAK - #11
Ayesha(R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “The Salah performed after using the Miswaak is seventy times more rewarding than the Salah performed without using the Miswaak.” [Ahmed]
THE GREATEST BENEFIT OF MISWAAK - #12
Mulla Ali Qari (R) writes that the Miswaak has seventy benefits. The least of them is that one would remember to recite the Kalimah at the time of one’s demise.[Mirqat]
WUDU AT HOME BEFORE PROCEEDING FOR SALAH WITH JAMAAT - #13
Abu Umamah (R) reports that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “One who purifies himself (i.e. makes Wudu) and leaves his home to attend the Fard Salah in congregation receives the reward of a Haji in the state of Ihram…” [Abu Dawood]
PERFORMING SALAH WITH CONGREGATION - #14
Abdullah Ibn ʿUmar (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Salah offered in congregation is twenty-seven times superior to Salah offered individually.” [Bukhari, Muslim]
PERFORMING ISHA & FAJR SALAHS IN CONGREGATION - #15
ʿUthman ibn ʿAffan (R) narrates: I heard Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying: “One who performs the Ishaʼ Salah in congregation, it is as if he has spent half the night in worship; and one who performs the Fajr Salah in congregation, it is as if he has spent the entire night in worship.” [Muslim]
PARTICIPATING IN JANAZAH SALAH AND BURIAL - #16
Abu Hurairah (R) reports that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “The person who accompanies the Janazah of a Muslim with Iman and with the hope of earning reward, and remains with it until the (Janazah) Salah is performed and the Mayyit is buried, will return (home) with two Qeerat of Sawab. Each Qeerat is equal to Mount Uhud, and the person who only performs the Janazah Salah, and returns before the burial, will return with one Qeerat of Sawab.” [Bukhari]
VIRTUE OF SALATUL ISHRAQ - #17
Anas Ibn Malik (R) reports that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever offers his Fajr Salah in congregation, and then remains seated making the Zikr (remembrance) of Allah until (approximately 15 mins after) sunrise after which he offers two rak’ats of Salah (Ishraq), will receive the reward of one complete Hajj and one complete ‘Umrah” [Tirmizi]
REMOVING DIRT FROM THE MASJID - #18
Anas (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The rewards of my Ummah were presented to me, to the extent that (the reward of) a speck of dirt a person removes from the Masjid (was also presented to me).” [Tirmizi]
REWARD FOR CALLING OUT AZAAN - #19
Abu Saeed Khudri (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Certainly the jinn, humans or any other creation that hears the voice of the muazzin as far as it reaches will testify on his behalf on the Day of Qiyamah.” [Bukhari]
OFFERING SALAH WITH THE INITIAL TAKBIR (TAKBIR ULA) - #20
Anas ibn Malik (R) reported that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever offers Salah for forty days in congregation with the commencing Takbir (Takbir Ula), will be granted two freedoms; a freedom from the fire of Jahannam and [protection] from hypocrisy.” [Tirmizi]
GOING TO THE MASJID TO ACQUIRE OR IMPART KNOWLEDGE - #21
Abu Umamah (R) reports that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever goes to the Masjid for the purpose of learning or teaching knowledge, receives the reward of a Haji whose Hajj was perfect.” [Tabarani]
GREAT REWARD FOR SERVING ONE’S MOTHER - #22
Anas (R) reports that a man came to Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and said: “I wish to participate in Jihad, but I cannot afford it.” Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) enquired if any of his parents were alive, to which he said: “Yes! My mother is alive.” Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Show Allah how you serve her. If you do so (duly) you will be like: a Haji, a Mu’tamir (one doing ‘Umrah) and a Mujahid.”

SENDING 100 DUROOD UPON NABI (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) - #23
Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who sends one hundred Durood [Salutations] upon me, Allah writes between his two eyes that this person is free from hypocrisy and hell fire and on the day of judgement, he will be with the martyrs.” [Al Mu’jamul Awsat]
VIRTUE OF MAKING SALAM FIRST - #24
Abu Umama (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “One who is closest to Allah is he who offers Salam first.” [Abu Dawood]
HUGE REWARD FOR VISITING THE SICK - #25
Ali (R) narrates: I heard Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying: “No Muslim visits a Muslim in the morning without 70 000 angels sending salutations upon him until the evening; and if he visits him in the evening, 70 000 angels send salutations upon him until the morning. And he will be rewarded with the fruits of Paradise.” [Tirmizi]
TO RECITE “SUBHANALLAH” 100 TIMES IN THE MORNING AND EVENING - #26
Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (R) reported that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “He who recites Subhanallah 100 times in the morning and another 100 times in the evening is like one who performed Hajj 100 times” [Tirmizi]
SLEEPING IN THE STATE OF WUDU - #27
Abdullah Ibn ‘Abbas (R) reported that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Purify these bodies and Allah will purify you, for any slave who goes to sleep in a state of wudu has an angel that spends the night with him. Every time he turns over, [the angel] says, ‘O Allah! Forgive your slave, for he went to bed in a state of wudu.” [Al-Mu’jamul Awsat]
REMAINING IN THE STATE OF WUDU - #28
Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) mentioned that: Remaining in the state of wudu is the sign of one being a true believer. [Ibn Majah]
GREAT REWARD FOR REMOVING DIRT FROM THE MASJID - #29
Abu Saeed Al Khudri (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: "Whoever removes some dirt from the Masjid, Allah will build for him a magnificent palace in Jannah.” [Ibn Majah]
BENEFITS OF ISTIGFAAR - #30
Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever holds firm to Istigfaar, Allah will make a way out for him from every difficulty, an opening from every worry and Allah will provide sustenance for him from where he never imagined.” [Abu Dawood, Nasai]
WHOEVER VISITS A SICK PERSON OR A BROTHER OF HIS FOR ALLAH'S SAKE - #31
Abu Hurairah (R) reports that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who visits a sick person or a Muslim brother, an angel calls out from the sky, ‘May you remain in ease and comfort. How excellent is your walking (to meet your brother and your concern for him) and (through this action) you have built (for yourself) a palace in Jannah.” [Tirmizi]
CONSOLING SOMEONE WHO SUFFERED A LOSS - #32
Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “A Muslim who consoles his brother will be clothed with garments of honour by Allah on the day of judgement.” [Bayhaqi]
ASKING ALLAH SINCERELY FOR MARTYRDOM - #33
Muaaz bin Jabal (R) narrates he heard Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying, “… And whoever asks Allah sincerely to grant him martyrdom (in the path of Allah) then he passes away (natural death at home) or is killed, will get the reward of a Shaheed (Martyr).” [Abu Dawood]
RECITING SURAH MULK EVERY NIGHT - #34
‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (R) says: Whomsoever recites Surah Mulk every night, Allah will protect him from the punishment of the grave by virtue of this Surah. In the time of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) we named this Surah Al Mani’ah’ (prevents the punishment of the grave). It is such a Surah, whoever recites it every night has certainly done a lot and has done good. [Sunan Nasai]
VIRTUE OF SURAH KAHF - #35
‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday, a light will shine from his feet to the clouds which will shine on the day of Qiyamah and he will be forgiven for the (minor) sins committed between the two Fridays.” [Targib wat Tarhib]
RECITING SURAH DUKHAN ON THE NIGHT OF FRIDAY - #36
Abu Umamah (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who recites Surah Dukhan on the night of Friday (Thursday night) or the day of Friday, Allah will build for him a house in Jannah." [Targib wat Tarhib]
HUGE REWARD FOR SIMPLE ACTIONS ON THE DAY OF JUMUAH - #37
Aws bin Aws Thaqafi (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever takes a complete bath on Friday, goes out early (for Jumuah Salah), walking, takes his seat near the Imam, listens very attentively, and does not indulge in idle talk, he will get the reward of one years fasting and standing in worship for one year for every footstep he takes.” [Abu Dawood]
GREAT BENEFITS OF AYATUL KURSI - 38
Ali (R) narrates that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Only death is a barrier for that person who recites Ayatul Kursi after every Salah. Allah will protect the home of every person who recites it before sleeping, together with the homes of his neighbours and many homes around him.” [Mishkaat]
REMOVING HARMFUL OBJECTS IS A BRANCH OF IMAN - #39
Abu Hurairah (R) reports that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Iman has seventy odd branches. The uppermost of all these is the testimony of faith: 'La ilaha illallah' while the least of them is the removal of harmful object from the road. And modesty is a branch of Iman.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
TWO EXPRESSIONS: LIGHT ON TH TONGUE, WEIGHTY ON THE SCALES - #40
Abu Hurairah (R) reports that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “There are two expressions which are very light for the tongue (i.e. easy to utter) but very weighty (in reward) on the scale and very pleasing to Allah. These are:
سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الْعَظِيْمِ
