Q: What is the ruling on working in a female only laser hair removal clinic, which includes removal of pubic hair?

A: It is permissible to work for and offer any service which is permissible in Islam and does not entail any impermissible practice provided one remains within the limits of permissibility in all aspects.

Modern day beauty trends include trimming, shaping or removing the eyebrows without a valid reason and waxing areas of another female that are impermissible to touch or view. As such, the scope for practicing this profession will be limited. Hence, if one is able to offer these services whilst remaining within the limits of permissibility, then such an employment or profession will be permissible. However, if one fears that it may lead to impermissible practices then such work should be avoided.
