Q: Can we make Dua in the posture of Sajdah in Salah?
A: If a person is performing Salah individually, it is permissible to make Dua in Sajdah provided that it is done in the Arabic language and for such matters which are not possible to ask of human beings, for example, اللهم اشف مريضي ‘Oh Allah, cure my ailing one.’ Obviously, if one is making Dua in Sajdah, it is better for him to restrict himself/herself to the Duas appearing in the Quran and Sunnah.
The above ruling is with regards to a person performing Salah individually. It is not preferable for an Imam to make Dua in Sajdah if this may cause difficulty to the congregants.
