Q: Assalamualaikum, is it permissible for my wife to get laser hair treatment on full body by a female practitioner
A: In terms of removing hair (in areas that is permissible to remove) using laser technology is permissible in principle, provided the product or process used is not harmful to one’s body and health. If the removal of hair is undertaken without engaging in any impermissible act (e.g. exposing oneself to males, or exposing one’s aurah to females) then this method of removing the hair will be permissible.
Hence, for a female to remove the hair of another female from areas that are aurah (prohibited to view) is not permissible. These areas include the hair on the thighs, ‘bikini’ area, ‘Brazilian’ waxing etc. Females should remove hair around such areas on their own. It is extremely immodest to have hair around such areas removed by someone else.
