Q: If a husband gives talaq to wife, what’s the ruling in Shariah? Does the wife have to return the gift to the ex-husband or does it belong to her?

A: In the case where a husband divorces his wife, without the wife requesting a Talaaq in lieu of her returning the Mahr, then the wife does not have to return any Mahr as the Talaaq was given of the husband's own will.

If the items were given as a gift then these should not be asked to be returned.
