The hospital services up to one million people in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District, making it a healthcare landmark. Installed with a 200kW solar PV system and 400kWh battery as backup supply, this will allow the hospital’s operation to be consistent and efficient, while also remaining green.
Portia Mngomezulu, Eskom Group Executive for Corporate Services, said, “This renewable energy microgrid will help ensure reliable power for critical healthcare services and strengthen energy resilience. It is a practical demonstration of Eskom’s commitment to a sustainable and inclusive energy future.”
