This week, the Department of Basic Education stated that the results will be anonymised, including only examination numbers, and not names, surnames, or ID numbers.
The department said, “We will continue to follow the established, court-endorsed practice of publishing the results without identifying learners in a manner that balances accessibility with the protection of personal information.”
By publishing results in accredited newspapers, matric students and parents will have easy and timeous access to them shortly after publication.
