This change will ensure that the previous restrictions which otherwise limited the performance of Umrah to specific visa holders will now be removed. Separate visa applications will no longer be required for those traveling on business or those who are transit passengers with long layovers in Jeddah or Madinah.

This development has been accompanied by the launch of the Nusuk Umrah platform, allowing digital issuance of electronic Umrah permits.
