With the combination of government debt relief programmes, tariff hikes, and a significant reduction in power cuts, Eskom has regained confidence in its operation.
A statement released by the company said, “This is a significant step forward for Eskom and the economy at large.”
Concerns, however, still lie in the municipal debt owed to Eskom, which as of 31 March 2025, has amounted to R94.6 billion.
