“We have closed the privately owned Temporary Transitional Emergency Accommodation in Msunduzi Local Municipality. We were joined by the Minister of Human Settlements, Thembi Simelane, when we handed over permanent houses to some of the 17 families who are now living comfortably in their new homes,” said Duma. “We are now busy with the procurement of a service provider that will commence the refurbishment of the lodge. We will ensure that 200 families will be accommodated by December 2025 and January 2026. This is in anticipation of heavy rainfall associated with the summer season.”
