As Salaamu Alaykum
I am a 60 years old male. I work for a madrassah and drive a bus to commute children to and from the madrassah.
My wife is 54 years old and we live in Phoenix.
Some years ago my wife had met with a bus accident.
She was seated at the front of the bus when it drove into a billboard pole due to a tyre blow-out.
This resulted in one of legs being crushed to the point that it had to be amputated.
Her other leg was also gravely injured resulting in fragmentation of the bones. However, internal fixation with metal pins reconstructed the bones and, Alhamdulillah, her leg is now fully restored.
Unfortunately, due to internal complications caused by the accident her spleen also had to be removed
I own a 2006 Hyundai Getz which was a non-runner due to a gearbox problem, therefore I could not use it.
My wife is wheelchair bound and moving around with her was difficult. We had to use public transport and at times of emergency, had to hire a vehicle to take her to the hospital.
Although I am grateful for having a job, my earning as a bus driver is limited. Further, the cost of transport was impacting on my earnings and finding funds to fix the gearbox proved difficult.
I eventually approached the office of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre at Starwood in Phoenix with a plea for help and – with the Grace of Allah Ta’ala – I was rendered assistance to fix the gearbox of my car.
Alhamdulillah, ever since my car has been mobile it has made our lives much better.
Taking my wife to hospital and back is much easier and much less costly than before.
I would like to say Jazakallah to Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre for their assistance and bringing comfort and some relief to our lives.
Once again, Jazakallah khair
