It is only through the efforts of service organisations such as yours that the young children (and their parents) can get an insight into the obligation placed on Muslims to assist those who are in need.

Not only do our learners receive the sandwiches at break but I have also identified 12 learners who often go to bed hungry. Each of these children now receive a loaf of sandwiches (on Tuesdays) to take home to their families for supper. Some of their parents have come to the school and regaled us with harrowing tales of dire poverty. At least now, they are assured of receiving a meal for Tuesday's supper.

The hands that feed our youth have been noticed and commended repeatedly by our staff who are all non-Muslims. May Allah reward you all and give you the strength and support to continue with the selfless work that you do.

Next Friday our learners from grades 8 to 11 will complete their exams. We thefore request that Tuesday 11 November be the last day for the delivery of sandwiches for 2014.
In shaa Allah we request that the programme resume at Reunion secondary School next year (2015).

NB: This request pertains to REUNION SECONDARY SCHOOL ONLY as the primary school learners normally attend school until the end of the year.
