Mother’s Name: Umm Ayman Barakah (RA). This noble lady was the caregiver of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and was the freed slave of his father Abdullah ibn Abdil Muttalib

Hazrat Usamah (R) is the freed slave of Rasulullah rand the son of the freed slave of Rasulullah r. He was also the beloved of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and son of the beloved of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) married him to Hazrat Fatimah bint Qays (RA) after she was divorced. He was 15 years old at the time. Hazrat Fatimah (RA) says that after this the women of Madeenah Munawwarah were ‘envious’ of her.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) had appointed him as the Ameer (leader) over an army which contained Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar y. He was only 17 years old at this time. However, this army did not proceed because Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) took ill at that time.

According to most scholars he passed away in 54 A.H. Some say he passed away in Madeenah Munawwarah and some say he passed away in Wadil Qura.
