Hazrat Umar (R) accepted Islam on account of the Dua of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) for him. (Mishkat Vol.2 Pg.557)
Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said that Allah has placed Haqq (truth) on the tongue and heart of Umar. (Mishkat Vol.2 Pg.557)
NB: Despite the many words of praise for Hazrat Umar (R) by Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) there are certain wretched and misguided people – who criticise, hurl abuse and insult this Sahabi (R) and other Sahaba t. May Allah remove them from their deviation and misguidance.
