Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (R) was an Abid (devoted to worship), Alim (scholar) and excellent reciter of the Qur'an. He had requested permission from Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) to write Hadith and Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) permitted him. Many people narrate Hadith from him.
There is a difference of opinion regarding where and when he passed away. The preferred opinion is that he passed away in Fustat in Egypt in 65 A.H and was buried in his house.
