On Wednesday, 7 August, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre Outreach Team participated in the open day at the East Boom Clinic, Pietermaritzburg.
The event started with an introduction by Dr. Chetty; the CEO of the clinic; who thanked the team at the Darul Ihsan Centre for their presence and provisions of 150 snack packs to the patients.
Several speakers addressed health issues relevant to the community with special emphasis on the female patients present.
At the end of the programme, the patients gleefully helped themselves to the healthy snack packs provided by the Darul Ihsan Centre's Outreach Team. The snack packs included bottled water, sandwiches, fruits, biscuits, and chips each.
With the generous help of staff and volunteers, the 'Feed A Patient' project aims to provide wholesome snacks to clinics, old age homes, and special needs schools. Approximately 12,000 snack packs are distributed across these facilities monthly.
With the grace and kindness of the Almighty, the Centre hopes to continue working with local clinics and communities to uplift and empower individuals in need.
