Now in its 4th year, the ‘Youth of the Ummah’ (‘YOU’) held a special programme for varsity students on 14 February 2014 at the various tertiary campuses in KZN. The programme was strategically held on the first Friday of the academic year coinciding with the Jumuah lecture.
Now in its 4th year, the ‘Youth of the Ummah’ (‘YOU’) held a special programme for varsity students on 14 February 2014 at the various tertiary campuses in KZN. The programme was strategically held on the first Friday of the academic year coinciding with the Jumuah lecture.
The purpose of the programme was to make first year students and those in advanced years of study aware of the numerous challenges faced at campus and to assist them in identifying ways to deal with these challenges.
Speakers at the venues were, Mufti Zubair Bayat (Howard College campus), Mufti Shafique Jakhura (DUT), Maulana A Akoo (PMB Campus), Maulana AC Mahommedy (UKZN Westville Campus) and Mufti Ebrahim Backus (Natal Medical School).
The programmes also aspired to motivate our young learners in the campus environment to use this valuable opportunity to assert their Muslim identity and promote Islam through their Islamic conduct.
The programme is held annually and is well received by the institutions.
‘YOU’ wishes all Muslim students the best in their academic endeavours and prays for their success in becoming true leaders of this Ummah.
