The Darul Ihsan Relief Team, along with the local Muslim community of Umtata, has responded swiftly to the disaster and are presently in the area to render humanitarian aid to the affected people. As immediate relief, over 200 food packs which was kindly donated by The Ohlanga-Tradeport Group and 300 blankets donated by generous donors of Darul Ihsan is being handed out to flood victims.

UMTATA: Torrential rains have swept across parts of the Eastern Cape causing heavy floods. The downpours and subsequent flooding has claimed 10 lives. Hundreds of displaced people are being housed in various halls around Mthatha (Umtata) and are being helped with food and clothing. It is estimated that at least 400 homes have been affected by flooding.
