A group of 38 participants and 5 facilitators - which included Ulama from Darul Ihsan - departed at 10pm on Friday, 07 December from Masjid ut Taqwa in Sea Cow Lake, Durban.
Travelling through the night the group arrived at the adventure camp at 6am the next day. Activities included rock climbing, a 3 hour hike, a 250m ‘Foofie-Slide,’ an obstacle course, problem solving games, group dynamics, etc. All camp activities were conducted by instructors of the Upendi Adventure Centre.
Islamic programmes for such camps are a regular feature with recitation of Surah Yaseen in the morning and Zikr sessions held after Fajr Salah. A well-attended ‘Q & A’ session was also held at the Brits Masjid.
Our Ulama also conducted programmes on “Taharah” and “Sunnats.” Alhumdulillah, all participants performed their Salah with congregation. All participants arrived home safely on Tuesday, 11 December 2012.
We pray that the camp was of benefit - both physically and spiritually to all participants.
