Umlazi saw its first ever Eid Gah this year on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha 1433/2012. Being a first-time open-air Eid prayer, a significant congregation of Malawians, Somalis and others attended the programme.
People came from as far as Malagazi, Lamontville, Chatsworth and Illovo to attend the Eid Gah.
Due to the positive response to this initiative the organisers hope to host Eid Gahs for Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha in the future, Insha Allah.
The Umlazi Eid Gah was organised by Ummah SA and supported by the Darul Ihsan Centre.
