Ulama from the Fatwa Department, Social Department and Muslim Marriages Tribunal of Darul Ihsan Centre attended the course, as well as the Ameer of Darul Ihsan, Mufti Zubair Bayat.
The course was presented by world renowned scholar, Moulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani of the Islamic Fiqh Academy of India. It was held in the first week of October over four days of intensive training. The programme was hosted and convened by the Jamiatul Ulama (SA) to give Ulama an insight and a broader vision into the complexities and dynamics of this important field of Islamic jurisprudence. Many practical aspects and challenges faced by Ulama who are active in this field were discussed. Among attendees were leading Ulama of the country, Muftis and lecturers of Darul Ulooms, members of Darul Ifta and Ulama dealing with matrimonial disputes in their respective regions.
The issue of Faskh (annulment of marriages) by judicial committees when husbands blatantly refuse to divorce their wives, despite the marriage breaking down irretrievably, was discussed intensively - especially the grounds of dissolution.
The Ulama of South Africa expressed their sincere gratitude to Moulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani for availing himself despite his very busy schedule.
