Darul Ihsan Centre initiated the “Literature Collection Project” to address this need and, with the grace of Allah Ta’ala, the project has received tremendous response from the community. The process entails the placement of a mobile collection unit in an accessible area within the premises of a Musallah or Masjid. Disposed literature is placed in the unit by the public and removed by Darul Ihsan for sorting. Usable literature is then passed on to worthy recipients or disposed in a suitable manner.
Much of the literature received is amazingly very valuable and include books, Qurans and other useful material. Booklets, Qurans, leaflets etc. are passed on free of charge to outlying areas in South Africa and other African countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania etc. where such literature is greatly needed and appreciated. A number of shipments have also been sent to Venezuela. Recipients include Islamic libraries, Islamic Dawah Centres, Madrasahs and Masajid, etc.
Many major Masajid and Musallahs in Kwa-Zulu Natal now have the dedicated unit on site where Muslims can deposit their unwanted or old literature. Presently there are 58 units in Masjids throughout Kwa-Zulu Natal. Due to public demand the project has been extended to the Johannesburg and Gauteng area where presently 35 units have thus far been placed.
Any individual or institution wishing to do a bulk drop off unwanted Islamic literature in Gauteng may contact Brother Muhammad Rawat 071 369 9846 or Moulana MS Ravat 082 671 9956 for further information. An office and depot for this purpose has been established in Johannesburg situated at 63 Marist Road, Homestead Park, Johannesburg.
We look forward to your ongoing support and Duas for this important project.
