Among the objectives of the conference was to bring together ulama from the SADC region to discuss issues affecting Muslims in their respective countries. Close to 150 Ulama attended this year’s meeting. The conference emphasized the need for Ulama to network constructively and to direct their energies to issues of priority affecting the Muslim Ummah.
The conference has been hosted in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi and the most recent one in Botswana.
