On Wednesday 20 June 2012 Darul Ihsan Centre (Durban), together with representatives of the Kokstad Muslim Community (KMC), distributed blankets and provided a meal for children of different schools in Kokstad.

The relief co-ordinator of Darul Ihsan Centre, Imraan Vaid and volunteer assistant Yusuf Rawat, met KMC member Imam Maseehullah Kathrada and volunteers Imran Raza Kajee, Ismail Amla, Ismail Bayat and Anwar Moolla at the Khanyiselani Community Centre.

The relief outreach was done through the auspices of the Khanyiselani Development Trust (KDT)

Ms Sibongile, the Centre Manager of the KDT, Mr Zolani Mhlongo, Speaker of the Council, and other members of the KDT were present. About 75 community members and parents were also present.

A total of 250 blankets were distributed to school children from Kokstad Primary School, Kokstad Public School, Westlands Primary School and Xoloxolo Senior School.

A hot meal was provided for the children and fruit and biscuits were also handed to them.

All KDT members, community members, parents and children expressed their joy and sincere appreciation for Darul Ihsan’s and the KMC’s kind gesture.
