On Thursday last week, 13 February, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s ‘Feed the Needy’ team conducted meal distributions across areas of greater Durban.
In the Boxwood Informal Settlement, Kenville, 460 hot meals were distributed. Additionally, 275 packed, hot meals were handed out in Lamontville, and 300 were distributed in Kwadabeka.
With the grace of Allah, the Centre’s ‘Feed the Needy’ initiative has served many indigent communities for almost 20 years. This includes the weekly provision of packaged, sustaining meals to informal settlements, as well as snack packs to old age homes, clinics, and special schools on a monthly basis.
All of this is possible with the generosity of Allah in donations received and the tireless staff and volunteers who allow this initiative to thrive.
Those looking to be a part of the scheme may contact the Darul Ihsan Centre on 031 577 7868 for more information.
