Attendees then participated in various activities, such as exciting trust exercises with one another in groups. This was followed by a riveting story and discussion on the importance of respect and unity despite differing opinions in a community, especially so when it comes to Islam. Similarly, an emphasis was placed on learning to understand and tolerate people who are different from ourselves.
A Zikr session followed, in which the plentiful and beautiful benefits of simple forms of Zikr were explained, encouraging attendees to continue in their spiritual efforts in future.
After a moment of silent and sincere Dua, refreshments were offered to those present, allowing guests to socialise with each other as well as the friendly team.
One of the attendees remarked, “It was our first event. We enjoyed it.”
“Really looking forward to the next one!” said another. “One of the things we learnt is that you can’t always be right… an important lesson.”
