The mosque utilises solar power for its lighting and air-conditioning, and ablution water is recycled for use in the toilets and to irrigate the mosque gardens. Both electricity and water are controlled via smart systems, and have significantly cut down on the use of the regular power grid to function.

According to the Assistant Undersecretary for Da’wah and Mosques Affairs at the Ministry of Endowments, Mohammed bin Hamad Al Kuwari, the project is a product of the cooperation between Awqaf and private companies. It also aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030’s goal for improving the quality of life for people as well as providing sustainable development.
