The Bilal Educational Institute is an educational initiative which incorporates Masjid Bilal in Castlehill, Newlands.

The Centre is strategically located on the outskirts of Newlands West and adjoins a number of townships such as Lindelane, Westrich and Richmond Farm with access to the bigger, bustling townships of Kwa Mashu and Ntuzuma. Further, arterial routes are now interleading via freeways into Durban and Pinetown.

Some of the activities that are conducted at this centre include :

• Siyaphambili Madrasah - Meaning 'moving forward' - an education concept for basic/primary learning of the Deen
• Teach the Deen - Supported by 'Learn the Deen' where women from the different areas are selected to continue studies in becoming teachers - consequently resulting in the establishment of 'more' Siyaphambili Madrasahs, Insha Allah.
• Skills Development Program - Where a variety of skills training programmes shall be offered to empower people.
