Will my Salah be accepted with dried blood on it?

Q: With the recent Qurbani celebrations we noticed that many of those performing Qurbani read salaah with clothing that had dried blood on it. Is this permissible?

A: The blood that flows from the animal is Najis and impure. If such blood soils the body or clothes and the soiled area is more than the circumference of the hollow of the palm (approximately 2.5 cm in diameter or the size of a R 5 coin) then Salah will not be valid. If the blood was not the flowing blood rather the clothing is stained from the flesh/meat etc. then this is not impure.

And Allah Knows Best
