I was advised to speak to Ulama regarding certain disturbing blogs authored by Muslims that bring out the tales and experiences of boys and girls seeking marriage partners, their experiences and other gossip. The blogs are written in a very comical and unpleasant manner, making a mockery of people and serve as cheap gossip and entertainment for the reader with very minimal or no benefit at all.
Q: A certain organisation requests contribution towards a noble charity initiative. An incentive for making a contribution is an entry into a draw with the possibility of winning a lucrative prize. The organisers have made it clear that no monies from the charity would be utilised for the prizes. The prizes are sponsored independently. Is such an initiative in order?

Q: My question is regarding year-end gifts / season gifts. We receive different kinds of gifts from our suppliers. Some of them are just items of use and others are edible items. Some of them are clearly marked as season's greetings and others read happy new year, some read as year end greetings, etc. And some dont have anything written on it. Can we use/consume these items? What should we do if not allowed to use them?
