SA looking to blood new traffic officers

JOHANNESBURG: South Africa is on the look out for new traffic officers and launched a program to try and strengthen the department.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) revealed this week that applications are open for trainee traffic officers.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a training program that runs for a period of three years.

This traineeship will take place in Gauteng or any other suitable training venue identified by the RTMC. Accommodation, meals, study material, and stipends will be provided to successful candidates.

“Candidates must be prepared to learn about all related fields and information concerning traffic law enforcement and road safety,” the RTMC said. “These will include attending classes as well as field-related training.”

A level 4 (50% to 59%) matric pass is a pre-requisite, while applicants must also hold a Code B driving licence and have no criminal record. They must also be under the age of 35 on the closing date of the advert, which is 24 April 2022 and can be found on the RTMC website.
