Dear Editor
The article “Two gunmen shot dead at Islam art-show,” The Daily News, Monday, 04 May 2015 refers.
The shooting of the two armed suspects by police in Garland, Texas, averted what could potentially have been a tragic massacre.
Violence is never an acceptable response to hate speech, no matter how inflammatory it is in the context of ‘freedom of expression.’
Violence cannot, under any circumstances, be condoned.
However, it seems that ‘freedom of expression’ has become open season for its purveyors to have carte blanche in attacking religion with absolute disregard of the beliefs and sensitivity of others.
