Dear Editor
The right to practice one's religion is of fundamental importance in an open and democratic society.
Our constitution's most salient freedom of religion clause guarantees everyone's "right to freedom of conscience, religion, thought, belief and opinion.”
Religious groupings in SA can freely practice their religion and centres of worship abound in what is a most congenial environment.
Also, our right to freedom of religion, belief and opinion is balanced against the traditions and customs of our unique society.
Kudos to our government for upholding religious rights as enshrined in the constitution.
