On Tuesday 30 July 2024, The Darul Ihsan Outreach Team visited the Thembalethu Care Centre in Lamontville and was met by the Project Manager of the centre M/s Thuli Khomo who welcomed us to the Centre.

Darul Ihsan is in support of this centre for a number of years providing snack packs, groceries and blankets during the winter period.

The team spent some time interacting with the children who attend this care centre from Monday to Thursday, 2 to 4 PM. The facility accommodates one hundred children from Grades three to seven. On these days the children are fed a hot meal and receive tuition on certain subjects.

The team observed that when these learners arrive at the centre their school bags are placed neatly in the required area and they also remove their shoes and place them into their bags. The discipline of the learners is of a high standard.

The Darul Ihsan Outreach Team provided snack packs, blankets and a hot meal which was enjoyed by the kids. They heaped praise and thanked the team for the provisions and support given to the centre.

The Centre Management reached out for further support by way of groceries which was agreed to.
