On Monday, 20 June, 2022, ‘Youth of the Ummah’ (YOU) - the youth wing of Darul Ihsan Centre, and 'Guideline', the Counselling wing of the Social Department of Darul Ihsan Centre, facilitated a successful programme at the Orient Islamic School, Durban on issues relating to youth and morality.
Three separate sessions were held simultaneously by Ulama and Social Counsellors from Darul Ihsan for grade 4-6 learners. The programmes centered around the themes of an Islamic identity, modesty, morality and the LGBQT+ agenda. A total of 186 learners were addressed over 3 one hour sessions.
Participants in the programme were interactive, energetic and thoroughly engaged in the various sessions making it a wonderful and insightful programme. Pertinent questions were posed by the learners and the advice of the Ulama and Counsellors was well received.
“The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.” ‘Youth of the Ummah’ aims to guide the youth through these insightful and engaging topics enabling them to prosper and grow into the future leaders of the Ummah.
Darul Ihsan Centre and Orient Islamic School have partnered over the years on such programmes and will continue for the upliftment of our learners. We thank the Orient Islamic School for facilitating these events.
