Darul Ihsan Bursary programme set to open for applications

DURBAN: Applications for financial aid through the Darul Ihsan Bursary Fund (DIBF) are set to open in the coming weeks.

For more than 10 years now, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre has been supporting many high school learners and students seeking to further educate themselves with tertiary studies.

The fund has helped them complete their high school education and facilitate tertiary education.

“Alhamdulillah, the DIBF was created by contributions from members of the Ummah whose vision is to provide support for many who can ill afford even the bare minimum for registration fees as an impetus to encourage applicants to further their studies,” the organisation said.

The opening date for submissions is 1 December 2021.

The following are guidelines for both applicants and parents of applicants for tertiary studies:

  • Financial assistance offered for high school learners are for Grades 8 to Grade 12. This assistance is for learners for public and private Muslim schools
  • Tertiary education registration fees for first and subsequent years of study are offered to males for both tertiary education institutions and distant learning
  • While full bursaries are not offered, due consideration is given to applicants who are in most need of financial assistance for their full-term of study
  • Assistance is offered to sisters is for Islamic studies and for distant learning
  • Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre – upon recommendation of its contributors to the DIBF – is sensitive to course selection which must comply with Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre criteria and especially the guidance and wishes of the parents of applicants.
