KWAZULU-NATAL: Darul Ihsan has expanded its Caregiver Course to a third training centre that is now based out of Pietermaritzburg.
The eight-week programme offers ongoing support to those seeking placement in family homes and facilities where they are able to serve those in need.
Established training centres already exist in Overport and Newlands groups of ten learners, Muslim and non-Muslim from all backgrounds, are provided an opportunity to empower themselves through the course.
The new Pietermaritzburg facility has been opened on Failsworth Road, Northdale.
Like the other two centres, it is being facilitated by a qualified nurse with extensive experience of health care. Sister Farzana Essa is overseeing the programme on behalf of Darul Ihsan on the ground in Pietermaritzburg.
“This is another positive initiative by Darul Ihsan and offers candidates the opportunity to support their households,” course-coordinator Anwar Carim said. “We have been intending for a long time to offer this training in the area due to high demand and this has now come to fruition, all praise to Allah Ta’ala”
Plans to expand the Pietermaritzburg offering further with the Darul Ihsan Fashion and Design Course are already in place.
Several graduates that completed the course earlier during the year in Durban are now available to assist the community.
