Tertiary learners attend Marriage programme at Darul Ihsan Centre

The tertiary learners of MA Motala Centre in Wyebank, Durban visited Darul Ihsan Centre on Saturday, 14 November, 2020. Presentations on the ‘Fiqh of Nikah’, ‘Traditional Marriages’ and ‘Practical Married Life’ were conducted by Ulama of Darul Ihsan. Maulana Moosa Phiri Saheb of Darul Ihsan engaged the learners in some robust discussions on issues of local tradition, lobola, pre marriage pregnancies and similar social issues relating to marriage.

The learners who hail from the Freestate, Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape and KZN provinces are engaged in various fields of study, including Law, Engineering, Business Science and other academic pursuits. The participants shared their insights and challenges of local and indigenous communities with marriages.

The visitors departed after meals with some positive impressions of the day:

- “The programme gave a clear understanding of Nikah and the steps to take when I wish to take a wife.” (Student – Mechanical Engineering)

- “ These presentations need to be taken out to the community and other Muslims. (Student – Chemical Engineering)

- “We must have more workshops of this nature” (Student – Teaching)

May these learners be blessed with immense progress and success in their endeavours and may they become true servants of Islam and humanity.

Darul Ihsan Centre provides a range of educational, awareness, leadership and mentorship programmes for school and tertiary learners. These programmes are a free service to our community and can be accessed by prior arrangement at our Centre or request to visit your institute.
