‘Feed A Patient’ outreach to patients at Glen Earle Health Clinic in Newlands East

The ‘Feed A Patient’ project of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre has, over the years, provided ‘comfort’ in the form of meals and supplies to many patients at hospitals and health care centres in Durban and surrounding areas.Further, it has continued with the relief programme despite the lockdown.

On a very cold Tuesday, 18 August 2020, the ‘Feed a Patient’ Relief Team provided patients at the Glen Earle Health Clinic with some basic supplies of benefit for the wintry period and circumstances of the lockdown.

The Relief Team distributed 100 blankets, 100 high-nutrition cereal packs, 100 soup formula packs, 100 ‘snack’ packs and 250 face masks to the patients at the clinic.

Sister Busisiwe Khathi and staff members from the clinic – in conjunction with members of the Relief Team - coordinated and facilitated the distribution of the supplies to the patients.

Sister Khathi, on behalf of herself, clinic staff members and many patients, expressed her sincere gratitude to Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre for the outreach to the patients at the clinic.

Through the lockdown the ‘Feed A Patient’ project also distributed supplies to patients at the ARV Clinic at R K Khan Hospital and a clinic at Newlands West.

The Relief Team comprise both staff members and many community volunteers for the running of the outreach projects of Darul Ihsan humanitarian Centre.

Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre places on record our sincere thanks to all volunteers who gave their time and our sponsors and donors for their support in this noble community outreach project.

These relief initiatives are only made possible through the generous and on-going contributions of the Muslim community.
