Hazrat Abdullah ibn Masood (R)

He had the honour and privlelege to be the attendant and keeper of the Miswak of Rasulullah r, his shoes and his wudhu water during journeys. He participated in the battle of Badr, in which he killed Abu Jahl, and participated in all the subsequent battles with Rasulullah r. He passed away in 32 A.H. aged approximately 63 he was buried in Jannatul Baqi. He narrated approximately 848 Ahadith from Rasulullah r

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “I am happy with whatever Ibn Umm Abd (Abdullah ibn Masood) is happy with for my Ummah and I am unhappy with whatever Ibn Umm Abd is unhappy with for my Ummah.” (Majma'uz Zawaaid)

Abu Musa Ash'ari (R) says: “My brother and I came from Yemen. A long period had passed and we were under the impression that Abdullah ibn Masood (R) and his mother belonged to the household of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) because they entered the house of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) so frequently.” (Bukhari)

Huzaifah ibn Yaman (R) was asked: “From among all the Sahabah of Rasulullah r, which Sahabi resembled Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) the most?”Huzaifah t, who himself was a great Sahabi and the confidant of Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, replied: “Among all the Sahabah (R) the one who resembled Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) the most in his manner of talking, walking and in his general conduct was 'Abdullah ibn Masood (R).”(Bukhari)
