Are there any proofs to show that Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) was to be the first Khalifah?

Q: Are there any proofs to show that Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radiyallahu Anhu) was the Khalifah after Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam)?

A: Khilafat

After the demise of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) his vicegerency in every respect passed on to Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radiyallahu Anhu). By virtue of the Bay’at (oath of allegiance) of the Muhajireen and the Ansaar at Saqeefah Bani Saaida where they gathered to discuss the appointment of a Khalifah, Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radiyallahu Anhu) was appointed as the Khalifah.

There are Ahadith which clearly indicate towards his Khilafat:

Hazrat Jubair bin Mut’im (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that a woman once came to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and consulted with Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) regarding a certain matter. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) counselled her and gave her advice. (Before leaving) she asked Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam): “O Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam), in the future if I have to come to Madina Tayyiba for guidance and I do not find you present?” (i.e. if you have already passed away, then who should I go to for guidance?) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) replied: “If you do not find me present, then go to Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (Radiyallahu Anhu).” (Mishkat)

Another narration states, “Allah and the Mu’mineen refuse to accept anyone but Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radiyallahu Anhu).

These are clear indications towards his Khilafat.

The following is also mentioned in Taarikhul Khulafa:

Nazal ibn Saburah states, “We asked Hazrat Ali (Radiyallahu Anhu) regarding Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radiyallahu Anhu). He said, ‘he is a man who was given the title of Siddeeq by Allah via the agency of Jibreel (Alayhis Salaam) and Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam); in Salah he was the representative of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam). The man whom Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) chose for our Deen (i.e. Salah) we chose for our Dunya (Khilafat).’”
